Things I Say A Lot

Can you tell I’ve read “How To Talk So That Kids Can Listen…” 243432 times?

“I need you to…(stop that, help me with this, etc)”
“I bet you could find a different way to ask/tell Other Kid this.”
“I would be a lot happier about helping you if you were asking me nicely.”
“No thank you!”
“I don’t like that! Please stop.”
“I hear that you are (angry, sad, etc).”
“You let me know when you’re ready.”
“You let me know if you think of something I can do to help.”
“Your choices are….”
“What do you think?”
“Hmm. That’s a good question. What WOULD happen if Mommy and Daddy died/the world was made of cheese/etc?”
